Error-free Documentation Ratio measures the ability to deliver goods and services without errors in the documentation.

An order is only considered to have documentation error-free if all required documents were correct and timely. Typical documents included are: Order Acknowledgment, SOC, Pro-forma Invoice, Invoice, Bill Of Lading, Import Document, HazMat/Safety Sheet.

Calculation

Error-free Documentation Ratio
=
n
Σ  Delivered Error-free Documents
i=1
  × 100%
n

where

  • Delivered Error-free Documents = 1 (one) if all documentation for the order is error-free, 0 (zero) if one or more documents had errors, were missing or late.
  • n = Total number of orders or order lines delivered

Unit of measure: %

Notes

A common way to measure this metric is to record and report all support events required to correct paperwork. If such a support event is recorded for an order than the 'Error-free Documents' above is 0 (zero) for that order.
