Electronic notice and details about the status of a vessel, container or consignment in the EDI ANSI X12 format. The message serves as notification of the transport status and/or a change in the transport status (i.e. event) between agreed parties.

• Shipper sends EDI 300 Reservation/Booking Request (Ocean) to Freight Forwarder or Carrier
• Freight Forwarder or Carrier responds with EDI 301 Booking Confirmation (Ocean)
• Shipper sends EDI 303 Booking Cancellation (Ocean) if applicable
• Shipper sends EDI 304 Shipping Instructions (Ocean) to Carrier
• Freight Forwarder or Carrier submits EDI 309 Customs Manifest to customs
• Freight Forwarder or Carrier provides multiple EDI 315 Status Details (Ocean) updates to Shipper or Consignee
• Freight Forwarder or Carrier submits EDI 312 Arrival Notice (Ocean) to Shipper or Consignee
• Freight Forwarder or Carrier submits EDI 310 Freight Receipt and Invoice (Ocean) to Shipper
