Orders Defect Free Ratio measures the ability to deliver products and services without defects. A defective product is a product that does not function as promised. Defects are generally caused by Make processes.

Examples of defects include:

An order is considered defect free if all items were delivered defect free. Defective products are identified as defective at the time of receipt, inspection or consumption in a production process or by the user.

  • Defect Free = 1 (one) if all items delivered were defect free, 0 (zero) if one or more items had a defect
  • n = Total number of orders or order lines delivered

Importance

A higher percentage results in less corrective actions, such as discounts, returns, replacements, repairs.
