Revision as of 03:25, 5 October 2017
The activities associated with issuing raw materials, catalysts, packaging materials and/or semi-finished goods to a staging area or a production location (line, station, cell, unit or vessel). This may include recording the Goods Issue to the Production Order. This may include issuing Production Orders.
Typically more complex manufacturing processes employ multiple versions of Issue/Stage Materials in parallel or sequence. Some materials are staged (semi-finished goods, sub-assemblies, kits), some materials are auto-replenished (drip parts, neutral packaging), some materials are triggered or pulled by the production order.
Use Cases
- Staging sub-assemblies
- Production Kanban
- Restocking consumables at the production line
- Inventory pull request for a production order
