Assess Technology Changes

The activities associated with documenting the changes to technology solutions in support of the proposed process and supply chain network changes. This includes documenting impact of process changes on technology solutions:

  • Find new technology solution
  • Install new technology solution
  • Configure new technology solution
  • Re-configure existing technology
  • Uninstall/retire existing technology

Typically these changes are documented in a Business Requirements Document (BRD). A BRD describes the changes required on technology expressed in business language and is the basis for further analysis by a technology-specific team to describe the detailed technological changes required to support the process change. The output of such process is a System Requirements Document (SRD) and is out of scope for SCM processes. See: ITSM, ITIL and other frameworks.
