Less-Than-Container Load or LCL is a term describing a shipment which occupies less than one (typically 20-foot or 40-foot) container. A carrier may/will combine multiple Less-Than-Container Loads when possible.

Compare to: Bulk, CEP, FCL, FTL, LTL.
