Total Landed Cost is a term describing the total cost of a product or service to arrive at the Buyer's point of consumption or retail sale. This includes the original price of the product, all transportation fees, customs, duties, taxes, insurance, currency conversion, demurrage, packaging, handling and payment fees.

Use Cases

  • In Retail: The cost to deliver and receive the merchandize at the location from where the product is shipped to fulfill customer orders (typically a store or Distribution Center)
  • In Manufacturing: The cost to deliver and receive raw materials at the location where it is stored for or used in the production process (typically a raw materials warehouse or a factory)
