The OpenReference Initiative is a global non-profit network of people (you) passionate about Open Standards standards, using advocacy, technology and training to unlock information and enable people (you) to work with it to provide value to their businesses.
We engage authors, reviewers and editors from all regions of the world, all industries and all Domains in business. We represent the views of small, medium and large companies, universities, government agencies and individuals (you).
We envision a world where all (you) can access and use a common language and reference to describe what organizations do, how well they do it and where you can find information how to improve what they are doing.
We strive to bring together practitioners, experts and researchers around the world (you), to develop and share the de-facto standard for business metrics, processes, practices, terms, competencies and data.
We measure success by tallying the number of people, companies and universities (you) that use OpenReference to learn and share. We want to be an enabler for individuals and businesses (you) to innovate, educate and achieve their goals.
We try our best to give online access to high quality OpenReference content 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. To ensure world-wide, unrestricted, dissemination of knowledge, we do not enter into exclusive partnerships, with regards to access to our content or use of our trademarks.
We must communicate OpenReference Initiative information in a transparent, thorough and timely manner, to our communities and more generally, to the public.
We are a community-based organization. We must operate with a mix of diverse volunteers, working together to achieve our mission. We must listen and take into account our communities in any decisions taken to achieve our mission.
