The activities associated with packaging and labeling the product. This may include preparing the packaging, inserting the product in its packaging, sealing the packaging, applying product labels to the packaging and where necessary insert the packaged product in group packaging (e.g. bottled liquids in a carton).

The [[sc:M]] process may add multiple packagings:
* Primary packaging is the material that envelops the product and holds it. This usually is the smallest unit of use. Primary packaging is in direct contact with the contents and may have commercial imprints to appeal to the customer. This type of packaging is typically added in a [[sc:M]] process
* Secondary packaging is the material that groups primary packages together. This does not apply to all products that require packaging, if secondary packaging is applied, then this usually is the smallest unit of sale. This type of packaging can be added in the [[sc:M]] or in the [[sc:D]] process.
* Tertiary packaging is used for handling, storage and transportation. This includes palletizing, shrink-wrapping, over-boxing and labeling. This type of packaging can be added in the [[sc:M]] process or in the [[sc:D]] process.

Labels applied to the product by this [[t:MTS]] process are typically limited to product information only, as customer order information is not (made) available at the time of production.
